Does procrastination act as a roadblock in your life?
Once in a while? Frequently? Always?
Putting off hard or unpleasant things is a habit that I believe many of us dabble in – to some degree.
As a personal coach, AND as a Mom, I see it over and over.
Starting healthy habits requires work. It’s easy to say, “I’ll start when … blah-blah-blah.”
And you inevitably put it off.
I came across this TedTalk on procrastinating, by Tim Urban.
*Spoiler alert* He does not give you a magical answer on how to stop procrastinating.
However, he simplifies what goes on inside the head of a procrastinator with a great visual. One that I will not soon forget.
And he differentiates between two types of procrastination:
- One that can cause your life to get a little crazy at times.
- One that can make you feel like a spectator in your own life.
I believe it is well worth the 14 minutes it will take to watch.
And it will make you laugh, which is always good for you.
